Creditable Coverage Notice

Federal regulations require annual notice to Medicare-eligible beneficiaries that TCU’s drug coverage is expected to provide coverage comparable to Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage.  If a Medicare-eligible employee or dependent becomes eligible for Part D and decides not to enroll because they have employer-sponsored coverage, a creditable coverage notice allows enrollment in Part D without being charged higher premiums.  For individuals enrolled in a non-creditable drug plan, failure to enroll in Part D when first eligible will result in higher premiums if they enroll in Part D at a later time.
