TCU is a Great College to Work For

The Chronicle of Higher Education has selected Texas Christian University as one of its “Great Colleges to Work For” for the seventh year and again named TCU as a member of the Honor Roll.

“We invest in our people, harnessing their potential and equipping them to make a difference in the world,” said Chancellor Victor J. Boschini, Jr. “This recognition demonstrates significant progress on our journey to be a world-class, values-centered university and I thank everyone for their contributions.”

In April, ModernThink, LLC distributed surveys to randomly selected TCU staff and faculty members and compared responses to nearly 45,000 peer responses at 232 institutions, both public and private. Participants responded to statements using a five-point scale, ranging from “Strongly Agree” to “Strongly Disagree.” The statements are categorized into the following areas of distinction:

  • Collaborative Governance
  • Compensation and Benefits
  • Confidence in Senior Leadership
  • Diversity
  • Facilities, Workspace and Security
  • Job Satisfaction
  • Professional/Career Development Programs
  • Respect and Appreciation
  • Supervisor/Department Chair Relationship
  • Teaching Environment (Faculty Only)
  • Tenure Clarity and Process (Faculty Only/Four-year Only)
  • Work/Life Balance

The Chronicle’s “Great Colleges to Work For” program recognizes institutions that have been successful in creating great workplaces, as judged by their employees. Key differentiators include having a positive culture based on capable leaders, clear communication, respect and alignment of mission and resources.
