Greetings Faculty, Staff and Student Employees,
Texas Christian University continues to be dedicated to creating and fostering a campus environment where all members of the community can thrive. We are also committed to meeting the requirements of Title IX of the Education Amendment of 1972 and the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) / Clery Act.
In our efforts to fully support an ongoing compliance campaign, all faculty, staff and student employees must comply with federal mandates and remain knowledgeable of Title IX, VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) and the Clery Act. It is with your continued adherence to these regulations that we maintain a culture of mutual respect in which all our members can work, teach and study together, free from all forms of harassment, including sexual harassment.
Title IX is a federal law that prohibits discrimination based on the sex (gender) of employees and students of educational institutions that receive federal financial assistance. Title IX’s prohibition of sex discrimination includes prohibition of sexual harassment and sexual violence. Sexual harassment is unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature and can include unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal, nonverbal, or physical conduct of a sexual nature, including rape and sexual assault.
