International Students

International students are allowed to work on campus 20 hours per week. Qualified students must be in possession of a valid F-1 or J-1 student visa with I-20 or DS 2019, a social security card and must be in good status with the INS. This must be approved and documented in three TCU departments, the International Student Services Office, the Center for Career and Professional Development and Human Resources.

International students who processed their hiring paperwork prior to September 11, 2001 must complete new forms in Human Resources.

International students must complete all the following steps before they are eligible to work on-campus.

Step 1. Contact the International Student Services Office at 817-257-7292 or view their web site at http://wholewideworld.tcu.edu.

This office will determine your eligibility to work at TCU and validate SEVIS requirements, complete I-9. Completing the I-9 requires evidence of the following documentation.  Take these documents with you when you go to the International Student Services Office:

A. F-1 Visa
B. I-20 or DS 2019
C. Social Security Card
D. Copy of Visa and Passport

Step 2. Contact the Center for Career and Professional Development at 817-257-222 or view their web site at http://www.careers.tcu.edu.

This office will assist you with signing up to view on-campus jobs, completing Workers’ Compensation and Personal Data Forms. Take these documents with you when you go to the Center for Career and Professional Development:

A. Completed and signed I-9 from International Student Services
B. Completed Foreign National Questionnaire from International Student Services
C. Social Security Card
