Call Human Resources at 817-257-5017  to determine eligibility under the Rule of 75.

Determine retirement date.

Notify supervisor in writing of intent to retire.

Schedule a meeting with Robin Scruton in Human Resources to discuss benefits after retirement.

Talk with retirement plan advisors.

TIAA (Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association OF AMERICA)

Connect with financial professionals who can explain how your retirement plan works and how you can choose the right amount to contribute. Call 800-842-2252 weekdays, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. (ET) OR schedule an appointment with a TIAA investment professional.

PFCC (Pension Fund of the Christian Church)

Connect with the client relations team by finding your area director OR call 866-495-7322 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (ET).

Prior to enrolling in Medicare Parts A & B, retirees should first reach out for assistance from TCU HR at benefits@tcu.edu.

Discuss Medigap, Medicare Part D, Medicare Advantage plan options with Via Benefits if you are age 65 or older. This process can/should start three months prior to retirement date and after receiving your medicare card.

Complete enrollment in plan through Via Benefits.

Retirees who are post-age 65 and meet the Rule of 75 have access to individual plans which complement Medicare through Via Benefits, a Towers Watson company. Via Benefits provides assistance in the selection of the health care coverage that best matches your medical requirements and budget. Upon enrollment in a medical plan through Via Benefits, you will have access to a TCU funded Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) to help reimburse you for eligible expenses.
