TCU is committed to providing employees with time off to balance work, health, family and personal needs. A new comprehensive Leaves of Absence Policy 6.025 has been approved by the President’s Cabinet and will take effect immediately. The Leaves of Absence Policy 6.025 will replace the following existing policies:

  • HR 5.008 Employee Absence Due to Inclement Weather
  • HR 6.001 Staff Vacation Policy
  • HR 6.015 Sick Leave Policy
  • HR 6.020 Family Medical Leave Act Policy
  • HR 6.025 Leaves of Absence Policy
  • HR 6.050 University Holidays

No fundamental changes have been made to the policies listed above. The new combined policy aims to enhance clarity, eliminate redundancy, and ensure consistency in the application and use of leave. The key highlights of the new policy are expanded, or additional definitions of leave types were not previously included in other policies:

  • Administrative Leave
  • Christmas Week Closing
  • Early Release
  • Jury Duty to Jury/Court Duty
  • Leave as an ADA Accommodation
  • Leave without Pay
  • Short Term Disability
  • Faculty Sick Leave
