Participants in the University’s group medical, dental and vision plans are eligible for payment of insurance premiums on a pre-tax basis. Active faculty and staff employed in regular positions whose full-time equivalent is 75% or more may set aside funds on a pre-tax basis in Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for medical, dental and vision expenses not covered by insurance and for dependent care expenses. Year-end W-2 forms reflect the lower taxable income resulting from the salary reduction agreement Flexible Spending Account participants sign new salary reduction agreements each year during open enrollment in the fall for an effective date of January. Changes during the year are permitted only with qualifying events.
